Coastal Bilingual Program

The SLCUSD is proposing to phase in a dual immersion program on the coast. The program would begin with the kindergarten class of 2020/2021 and continue to add a grade level each year thereafter. We held two community meetings on April 23rd at Baywood Elementary and April 24th at Del Mar Elementary to present the idea and to get initial community questions and feedback. This webpage is meant to keep the community informed as to our progress on this proposal and to continue outreach, clear and transparent communication, and gather input via a survey. Below are links to the survey, a timeline of how we will proceed, the presentation made on the coast, initial responses to questions and feedback from the coast meetings, and additional informational links on bilingual education and research. We think this program will be a tremendous addition to the education we offer our students and families.
