Public Health and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. Fully vaccinated people are exempt from quarantine, screening testing and may unmask indoors in certain settings. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. To be identified as fully vaccinated, students may submit a front and back copy of their vaccination card or CA COVID-19 Digital Record or healthcare provider vaccination record to the school’s front office. Vaccination is free and available at many local pharmacies, Public Health clinics and pop up locations (including some SLCUSD schools). ReadySLO.org provides local information on vaccination in SLO County.
