30 minute games - running clock, and a 5-minutes half-time.
You can sub athletes when the play is dead.
QB Running before Rusher Crosses: 5-yard penalty and replay.
Player Advances Over Scimage Line Before Snap: 5-yard penalty and replay.
No Flag Guarding or Screening: 5-yard penalty and loss of down.
Downed Balls
Fumbles (and snaps that hit the ground) are dead balls and the offense keeps possession at the spot where the ball hits the ground, except on the 4th down (defense gains possession if it's a 4th down).
Flag Pull: The play ends when a flag is pulled. The ball is spotted where the flag was pulled, and the next down occurs from there.
Belt Falls Off: Play stops, and the ball is spotted at the location where the belt falls off. Downs continue from that spot.
Scoring/Turnovers
7 points for a touchdown; no 2-point conversions.
Safety: If a flag is pulled or a fumble happens in the end zone, the defense earns 2 points and gets the ball at their 5-yard line.
Interceptions: Can be returned, and new offense gets 4 downs to reach midfield, or 4 downs to score if past midfield.
Turnover on Downs: Defense gets the ball at their 5-yard line.
Offense
Rock-Paper-Scissors: Decides which team starts on the offense. Defense gets to choose what side of the field they want.
Starting Position: The offense begins at the 5-yard line.
4 downs to reach midfield, then another 4 downs to reach end zone.
QB can't run past the line of scrimmage unless a defender is rushing.
If QB tosses it to another player behind the line of scrimmage, that player may run with the ball.
If a player steps out of bounds, the ball is placed at that spot.
Defense
Defensive players must pull the offensive player's flag to stop the play.
The rusher must count "1,000, 2,000..." up to five before crossing the line of scrimmage.
Handoff Rules: If the QB hands off the ball, the rusher can rush immediately.
If a defender makes intentional physical contact with an offensive player, it's a 5-yard penalty, and the offense gets to replay the down.
After pulling the flag, the defender must hand it back to the offensive player (no throwing it down in celebration).
Managing Player Conduct
If a player commits a physical foul, allow both players to cool down off the field.
Take a moment to talk to the players and remind them of the rules before they can get back into the game.
