About the Program

Developed in partnership between SLCUSD, the San Luis Coastal Education Foundation, and the Cal Poly College Corp program- the Elementary Athletics for Achievement program aims to use sports as a way to connect students to their schools and to develop academic, leadership, and social skills. The purpose of the program is to change the trajectory of students at a young age to impact student success throughout their educational journey from elementary school to high school. This long term, systemic and institutional change will benefit our students and school communities by increasing student engagement, developing citizenship and sportsmanship, empowering all students to be leaders, strengthening family connections to the school, and improving overall school culture.

The program currently serves 5th grade students at all elementary schools and 6th grade students in San Luis Obispo. (6th grade students at Los Osos Middle School participate in their own school sports program.)

Please contact your school site Principal for more information!
