Social Media and Anti-Bullying Awareness

On February 21st, we delved deeper into the realm of social media and its impact on our youth. Social media is not going anywhere and has become an integral part of our children's lives. It's crucial to recognize both its promises and perils.  A panel engaged in a discussion on the impact of social media and cyberbullying on teens. 

Drugs, Sexting, and Human Trafficking

On February 28th, panelists from SLO County Behavioral Health, SLCUSD, and School Resource Officers spoke about substance abuse and youth.

Divina Diaz from the District Attorney's Office provided an in depth presentation on human trafficking in SLO County and what parents can do to keep their kids safe.

Mental Health, Counseling, Student Privacy Rights, Parent Rights

On March 11th, panelists from SLO County Behavioral Health and SLCUSD reviewed the roles of school counselors, how community organizations partner with the District, and what Ed Code and the law says about student privacy rights.

Windows and Mirrors in San Luis Coastal

SLCUSD teachers, librarians, and administrators  reviewed the ways the District uses "Windows and Mirrors" to help students see other experiences and have their own reflected back on them.
