Hawthorne Elementary

Measure C will start with a complete modernization of the classroom building and office/classroom building, including roofs, paint, windows, and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning).  New ADA accessibility and fencing will be added at the front of the campus, along with a new fire alarm campuswide.  The three kindergarten classrooms in the main office building will be modernized and the staff and iInnovate rooms will be moved.   We will also be modernizing the main restrooms throughout the campus.   The addition of two new child care portables and relocation of the bike racks to the south side of campus will complete the modernization.

• Modernization of main classroom building exterior envelope to include: remove and replace windows; repair wood siding; painting wood siding, stucco, walls and soffits, fascias and doors;  replace HVAC to include cooling for each classroom; and re-roofing with comp shingles.
• Modernization of two-story classroom/office building and MPR building exterior envelope to include: repair wood siding; painting wood siding, stucco, walls and soffits, fascias and doors;  replace HVAC to include cooling for each classroom; and re-roofing with comp shingles at sloped and PVC at flat with walk pads.
• Front entry fencing and walk/ramp ADA upgrades for secured entry.
• Replace and upgrade fire alarm system campuswide.
• New shade structures for TK classrooms.
• Upgrade main classroom building restrooms.
• Two new above grade child care classroom portables with restrooms. 
• Sitework for child care portables. 
• Upgrade interior finishes and restrooms for converted kindergarten classrooms in the lower level of two-story building. 
• ADA upgrades, ramped walk to lower MPR area.
