Board Member Vacancy
The San Luis Coastal Unified School District is looking to fill a vacancy on its seven-member Board of Trustees. Following former Trustee Dr. Kathryn Eisendrath-Rogers’ mid-term resignation, a vacancy has opened up on the Board in Trustee Area 7. On January 12, 2022 the Board announced its intention to begin the process of provisionally appointing an interested candidate to fill Dr. Eisendrath-Rogers’s vacated seat.
Interested candidates are invited to complete an application packet and submit it to the District Office at 1500 Lizzie Street, B-1, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 or via email to Superintendent Dr. Eric Prater at firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:30 p.m. on February 3, 2023.
On February 6, 2023, a screening committee will post the names of candidates who will be invited to participate in an interview. On February 22, 2023, the Board will interview candidates for the vacant position in open session. The Board will, at that time, consider making a provisional appointment. California law requires that candidates meet the following minimum eligibility requirements to be considered for provisional appointment to the Board:
The candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
The candidate must be a citizen of California.
The candidate must be a resident of San Luis Obispo and its environs
The candidate must be a registered voter.
The candidate must not be disqualified from holding a civil office.
Preference will be given to candidates who are residents of Trustee Area 7.
The Board is responsible for ensuring the District operates effectively and efficiently. Trustees commit a significant amount of time, energy, effort and dedication to ensure that the District can appropriately serve our community.
