KNOWN ISSUES

Windows Desktop

Issue: Moving Desktop Icons

When: 2007-05-31

Notes:

Staff should be able to move them anywhere on the desktop. Sometimes when moving icons on the desktop, they do not stay in place. This is a known issue for the current version of the district's Novell management system. Here's a fix for now to move the icons back into place, right-click on the desktop and select "Arrange Icons By > Auto Arrange."

Issue: Lunch Count Works Intermittently

When: 2007-09-06

Notes:

Some elementary teachers have reported that the "adult" lunch count works intermittently. This is a "known issue" with PowerSchool, article #4267. When they  have a fix for it, IS&T will notify sites. In the meantime, lunch counts not working should be called into the office or completed on paper.

Novell Client

Issue: Drive Mappings Missing

When: 2008-05-25

Notes:

Some users at several schools have reported missing mapped drives (P drive or shared drives) when logging in. This intermittent issue has been reported to Novell's technical support. Technicians are working with Novell to resolve this issue. As a temporary workaround, users experiencing this problem may log into Novell again by clicking on the Start button and selecting "Log Off." Sometimes it takes two or three logins before the mapped drives appear.

Windows XP / Novell Login

Issue: Missing Desktop Icons

When: 2008-07-23

Notes:

Some users have reported that some of the desktop icons are missing when logging into Novell. Logging in a second time will resolve this issue by clicking on the Start button and selecting "Log Off." Any short cuts created by staff users are there. This issue relates to the icons/shortcuts created by the district's management system (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, etc).
