Thank you for visiting the Information Services and Technology web site. Our team works to professionally support district-wide technology by leveraging available resources within a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
Information Services and Technology repairs and maintains technology at 10 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 3 high schools and for each district-level department. The district owns a Unified Metropolitan Area Network (UMAN), which is a fiber optic network that links all sites to the district office and many city and community entities. 100% of our classrooms are connected to the wide area network and filtered Internet access is provided in compliance with the district's Technology Use Policy and the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirements. The District Educational Technology Plan has been updated and approved by the California Department of Education through 2009.
In addition to our customer service-oriented staff, we carefully select part-time work study students from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) to work with us during the school year. We also collaborate with our high schools' Regional Occupation Program (ROP). Students enrolled in ROP courses assist in supporting technology on campus.
